Charles Douglas Cooper of Calhoun, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Charles Douglas Cooper, known affectionately as Doug, was born on April 1st, 1963, to Jerry and Linda Cooper in Clinton, Missouri. The family later moved to California where he would get to work with his dad and learn the trade of working on motorcycles and cars. He had a love for Indian Motorcycles.
Later they moved back to Calhoun where Doug attended Calhoun High School. After graduating he made a career working as a mechanic and other jobs over 30 years. He was a father of two children, Jerry Lynn Cooper, and Stacie Michelle Cooper and a grandfather of four. Doug had a passion for motorcycles, especially Indians. He spent much of his free time working on them and riding them.
Anyone who knew him knew Doug had a larger-than-life personality, and always had a story to tell. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever there was someone in need. His family and friends will miss him more than words can express.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lynn Cooper, and his daughter, Stacie Michelle Cooper.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Cooper of Calhoun, Missouri, his son Jerry Lynn Cooper, his sisters, Lori (Dale) Willcockson of Calhoun, Missouri, and Beverly (Bob) North of Overland Park, Kansas, four grandchildren: Ian Cooper, Madison Overbee, Gavin Cooper, and Jayden Cooper of Windsor, Missouri, as well as many nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held November 1, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. Larry Hill officiating. Interment followed in Hopewell Cemetery, Montrose, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO.
