Clinton Softball Fuels Up For District Run

Posted

As Cardinals softball, 3-0 in tournament play this season, heads to districts this week with yet another title run in their sights, the team took some all-important time to connect and reflect together, kicking their week off with a team breakfast.
For the team, led by 1st year head coach Sydney Snyder, this week will be the most important one so far, serving as either end-cap or launching point for what has been a roller-coaster season for the Lady Cards that has seen shut-outs, walk-offs and everything in between.
The team, which has been led on the mound this season with clutch performances from junior pitcher Briley Wishard, will look to strike early in districts this week as they face off first against an Odessa ball-club struggling at the plate. An opening round win will be the first step, and as the Lady Cards fuel up this week with tournament glory once again in their sights, it’s a step they’re more than ready to take. It’s also a step they can take with confidence, having “been there done that” three times so far on-the season.
This time around though, the pressure will be as high as ever.
So, will their season end this week, or is this just the beginning? One thing is for sure, this Cardinals softball team, which has seemed to shine the most when the pressure is on all-season, is more than ready to answer the call.
We’re all rooting for you Lady Cards! All that’s left is to play ball.
