Coralie F. Strange, age 75, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
She was born on January 31, 1950, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of James Franklin Sumey and Gertrude Elizabeth (Rose) Sumey. Coralie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, where she attended and graduated from Truman High School.
Coralie began her working career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she was employed for several years. She later pursued a calling in healthcare, earning her nursing certification and dedicating herself to caring for others while working in hospitals and nursing homes in Kansas City and Harrisonville.
On July 10, 1993, Coralie was united in marriage to James Wayne “Jay” Strange. Together they made their home in Edwards, Missouri, where they built a life filled with love and shared memories.
Coralie had a passion for crafts of all kinds and found great joy in gardening. She cherished time spent creating, nurturing her plants, and being surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jay Strange.
Coralie is survived by her children, Ryan Estep of Edwards, Missouri, and Laura Bledsoe and her husband Dustin of LaCygne, Kansas; four grandchildren, Syrina Sanchez, Dakota Brown, Herschel Bledsoe, and Eli Bledsoe; six great-grandchildren, Taiga, Ryuji, Christopher, Sabella, Auron, and Killian; one brother, Carl Sumey; and one sister, Sandy Connerly, along with many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
Arrangements for her cremation are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw.
Graveside services will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri at a later date.
Coralie will be remembered for her caring heart, creative spirit, and the love she shared with those around her.
