Council Appoints Bauer To Cemetery Board

At an August 6 meeting of the Clinton City Council Gene Henry, Roger House, Cameron Jackson, Austin Jones, Gary Mount, Greg Shannon and Stacie Wilson were present. Others present were City Administrator Christy Maggi, City Clerk Wendee Sexton, City Attorney Adam Sommer, Fire Chief Mark Manuel, Deputy Fire Chief Matt Willings and Deputy Police Chief John Scott. Mayor Carla Moberly presided over the meeting. Absent was Shelley Nelson.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Joel Long gave an update on Clinton Regional Airport. There have been some contractor delays, but the roof, siding and parking lot will be finished soon. The facility experienced its highest month for fuel due to the Oshkosh Air Show traffic. The airport also experienced three charters in a single day.
In other business The Council accepted the retirement letter of Desty Haddock who began employment with the City in September 2004. Continuing with Parks and Recreation The Council approved a motion for the Vance Brothers for $22,342.32 to micro-seal the existing parking lot at the soccer field.
Deer Creek PS will complete elevator repairs for the fixed price of $5,228. The auto-transfer switch is still not functioning. The Council approved the repair.
A Resolution of Support was approved for Cloy Estates Phase III. It supports the application by D. Kim Lingle and MBL Development for Missouri Housing Development Commission funding for Cloy Estates.
Mayor Moberly made a recommendation for the appointment of Greg Bauer to the Cemetery Board with a term expiring in March 2027. The recommendation was approved. Following this item of business The Council approved the annual Conflict of Interest Policy.
