Cynthia Lawrie Cummins, age 74 passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
Cynthia “Lawrie” Cummins was born on December 5, 1949, and passed away just shy of her 75th birthday.
Lawrie enjoyed a fulfilling career selling Mary Kay cosmetics, where she built lasting relationships and found joy in helping others feel their best. She loved spending time with her family and was often found tending to her plants, finding peace and purpose in their care.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Cynthia Culpepper and BJ Woodside.
Lawrie is survived by her brothers, Lee Baker and Steven Baker; her Aunt Cecilia Tinkler; her son Harley Cummins and his wife Kelly; her daughter Sheila Strickland; and her cherished grandchildren: Austin Strickland, Amanda Strickland and her husband Steven James, Macie Cummins, Miles Cummins, and Beth Strickland. Lawrie also leaves behind great-grandchildren Jaythan Strickland , Clark and Maverick James, all of whom she adored.
Lawrie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held October 11, 2024 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton, MO with Rev. William Smith officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art.” The casket bearers were Harley Cummins, Tom Drummond, Vic Mueller, Steven James, Austin Strickland and Miles Cummins. Interment was in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
