Darrel Eugene Shriner, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home in Clinton, Missouri.
Darrel was born on January 14, 1941 to Roy Eugene and Opal Mae (Nida) Shriner in Clinton, Missouri. He married Carol Ann (Hulett) on September 3, 1961 in Clinton, Missouri. To this union two sons were born, Wayne Eugene and Lynn Alan.
Darrel loved serving the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton, Missouri where he served as a deacon for many years. He was in the National Guard and U.S. Army, and employed at KCPL until 1996 when he and Carol expanded their camping adventures.
Darrel loved his family, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, lawn bowling, playing golf, playing games, and reading.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry, son Wayne, granddaughter Nicole and great granddaughter Ivy.
Survivors include his wife Carol of the home, his son: Lynn (Laura), his grandchildren: Dillon (Jessica), Tiffany (Shawn), Monica, Shayla (Zack), Whitney (Noah), Emily (Tom), Natalie, Alan (Katherine), 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be deeply missed by his immediate and extended family, church family, numerous friends, and his little fur baby Pippie.
Funeral services were held August 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, MO with Pastor Pat Findley officiating. Special music included “Through the Years, and I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You.” The casket bearers were Howard Bullock, Galen Dody, Gary Groff, Daniel WIlson, Russ Wilson and Chance Wilson. Interment was in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
