David Cain

David Cain passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Adair Village in Clinton, Missouri.
He was born on July 24, 1957 in Tacoma, Washington the son of Betty J. (Davidson) and Junior Vernell Cain.
David grew up in a military family and settled down in Clinton, Missouri in 1971. He spent the remaining years of his life in Clinton. He can be described as a colorful character who always had a funny story to share with his friends. He graduated from Clinton High School and worked as a freelance concrete finisher until his late 40’s. He was an avid Pool player, tinkered with electronics, and spent many an hour visiting with his many friends.
David is survived by his 98-year-old mother Betty J. Cain, his ex-wife Francis Diane Cain and 3 ex-stepchildren, an older brother Michael Cain, his sister-in-law Sandra (Moore) Cain, a nephew Michael Cain Jr., and a niece Michelle Cain, all who live in Mineola, Texas. His sister Debra Petralia and his nephew Brian Petralia live in Clinton, Missouri. He has two niece’s, Melissa (Petralia) Siebels in Donalsonville, Georgia and Allison Petralia in Kansas City, Kansas.
While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindnesses he has shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
Funeral services were held January 29, 2025 at Golden Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, Clinton with Pastor Marty Resz officiating. The casket bearers were Jack Davis, Matt Houk, Logan Elges, Jeff Davis, Sean Elges and Ronnie Lee. Jimmy Ballard and Shawn Morlan were honorary bearers. Special music included “Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art and What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Interment followed in Good Hope Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
