Continue to celebrate Valentine’s Day by attending the Christian Women’s Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at First Assembly of God Church. The featured speaker for the luncheon will be Scott Brooks, owner of Clinton Flower Shop.
Reservations are due by Friday, Feb. 16 for the luncheon, which starts at 11:45 a.m.
Scott, who is originally from Calhoun, has been a musician in area churches since he was young, and may share some of his favorite hymns as part of his program. Scott went from working for the sheriff’s department to being hired to be the bookkeeper of a flower shop, learning to do floral arrangements on the job.
He bought the Clinton Flower Shop in 1996, and has been there for families in Clinton and surrounding communities for 30 years, providing flowers for multiple generations on happy occasions and sad.
Everyone is invited to attend the luncheon. Make reservations by calling Debra Dolly, 660-885-5918, or emailing debdolly30@gmail.com by Feb. 16. Cost of the lunch, which is catered by Melinda Dehn, is $12, and includes a hot entree, side dish, salad, bread, dessert and tea or coffee.
First Assembly of God is the church facing the southeast corner of the junction of Hwy. 7 and 13. Enter by the back door of the church, which is at 1506 E. Ohio.
The Christian Women’s Luncheon is part of Stonecroft Ministries, which seeks to inspire women to live extraordinary lives by living out their faith, connecting with others and taking leadership roles in their communities.
