The Fristoe area was blessed by wonderful amounts of moisture this past week which made everyone smile. The yards were made to turn green and gardens added to the produce they were putting forth. Along with the beans, corn and vine products of cucumbers and zucchini, gardens are now putting out melons; watermelons and cantaloupe that just make everyone enjoy this time of year.

A reminder that the Benton County Rodeo will be August 30 and 31, Friday and Saturday night. One of Fristoe's sweethearts, Madalyn Arnett is competing for rodeo queen and if you are planning on attending and haven't gotten your tickets yet, buy them from Arnett's. Tuesday, August 20 will be the first day of school for Madalyn so reach out to Adam if tickets are needed and he will make sure Madalyn gets them to you. The Arnett family will appreciate any help that Madalyn gets to win rodeo queen.

There are other youth in the Fristoe area starting back to school; the Jackman family, Bilderback family, Hammond family and more. Fristoe News wishes everyone a safe and happy school year.

Prayers for Kathy First, Lewis and Judy Retherford, Gladys Harris, Carolee Apperson and Mary Scarbrough.

We send a LOUD happy birthday shoutout to Connie Newkirk! A loud happy birthday shoutout to another Connie, Connie Cunningham on Sunday, August 25.

According to news, numbers are increasing of people having contacted Covid late this summer. At Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, there have been people absent with medical problems but whether it is Covid or something else, we have not heard. Connie and Dave really did a spiritual job leading song service on Sunday morning with Bryan and Dobee helping. Claude and Delores did a great job on "Gloryland Way" and Sue and her grandson Layne helped. Dobb did a special alone "Going to The City". The Adult Sunday School Class was Psalms 90. This is a Psalm that we are told was written by Moses. Br. Smith's Sunday message came from the book of Mark, and he brought out the things that Jesus lastly said to the disciples.

Thought for the week: Marriage may well be made in Heaven, BUT the maintenance must be done on earth!

Hope everyone who reads Fristoe News thinks of something to contribute to the column next week and hope all are happy, safe and blessed!
