This past week members of the Happy Feet group happily accepted grant money from the Benton County Community Foundation. Accepting the check was William and Loyce Smart along with Pastor Stephen Zeller.
Members of the BCCF, Amanda Lutjen, Alice Wilson and Cheryl Petersen presented the check for $2,382.50. The funding was made possible in part through the Patterson Family Foundation grant the BCCF received in 2023. Thanks to all who have supported the BCCF as they celebrate twenty –five years of serving Benton County.
Happy Feet spokesman, William Smart explained how the Happy Feet program works. Each child receives a voucher for $40. If the shoes are more than $40, the parents pay the difference. If the shoes are less than $40, they are paid in full but no cash is returned to the parents.
The vouchers are distributed at the Back-to-School clothing sale held in August.
