Harding Lee Braun, 80, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday night, February 1, 2025 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. He was born October 18, 1944 in Clinton, MO, the son of Harding Coolidge Braun and Thelma Maxine (Bath) Braun.
He married Mary Alice Graham on November 3, 1963 in Clinton, MO. She survives of the home.
Harding was a farmer. From row crops, dairy cattle and various other livestock, to the Braun Christmas Tree Farm he established in the early 80’s. He also built and maintained the Braun Boat Storage units. He had also worked for Clearfield Cheese, and was a night security officer with Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He loved his church family, and was especially fond of Shirley’s chocolate sheet cake. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 430 in Clinton, an Honorary Warrior of Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and was a long time troop leader. He and Mary were members of the Golden Valley Squares. Harding was very community minded, serving on the Clinton Township Road Board and also with the Henry County Fair Board. In his “spare time” he enjoyed gardening, especially with his great-grandson Preston, drawing and coloring with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, watching westerns and Hallmark movies on television. He also enjoyed the shows and Truman Lake Opry and the yearly Olde Glory Days activities and shows. He worked hard, supported his community, but most of all enjoyed time spent with family.
In addition to his wife Mary, surviving are two sons, Kelly G. Braun, Clinton, MO and Kevin L. Braun, Clinton, MO; one daughter, Karen D. Posey (Mike), Clinton, MO; two granddaughters, Andrea Goben (Brad), Clinton, MO and Sarah McKinley (Christopher), Clinton, MO; one grandson, Dylan Braun (Destiny), Deepwater, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Preston, Cole, Brooklyn, Journey, Karter, River, Freddy, Archer and Ronnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Braun.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
