Harold Eugene Hetherington
Harold Eugene Hetherington, 91, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Adair Village in Clinton. He was born July 22, 1934, the son of Paul Richard Hetherington and Beulah Frances (Beaty) Hetherington. He was delivered at home by his great uncle, Dr. Joe G. Beaty, weighing 8 pounds.
Harold graduated from Blairstown High School, Blairstown, MO in May, 1952. He enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve on May 4, 1952 at the United States Naval Air Station in Olathe, Kansas. He was on active duty from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Merimar, California. and reserve duty the following six years. He received his honorable discharge on April 29, 1960. Prior to joining the Navy, he worked for Missouri Public Service for two years.
When he returned from active duty, he was employed with Trans World Airlines (TWA). He remained with TWA for 34 years, retiring in 1990.
He married Patricia Ann Rhoads on April 14, 1956. They had four children, Rickey Eugene, Brian Keith, Kelli Rae and Hal Kent. They lived in Kansas City North for five years and Platte City, MO for 27 years. After his retirement from TWA he and Patricia moved to Tucson, Arizona. They lived there for 13 years, then moving to Clinton, MO in 2003. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Hetherington of the home; three sons, Rick Hetherington (Amy), Raymore, MO, Brian Hetherington (Kathy), Clinton, MO and Hal Hetherington (Heather), Collins, MO; one daughter, Kelli Hetherington, Clinton, MO; five grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Natasha, Trishan and
Jamie; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Ann Long.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Englewood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Condolences may be left online at www.bradleyhadley.com.
