James "Jimmy" Greenwell, 72, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.
Jimmy Wayne Greenwell was born on September 10, 1953 in Clinton, Missouri to Vencil and Wanda Greenwell. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Jimmy was always good for a tall tale, a laugh, or even a big kiss on the mouth! On most days Jimmy could be seen sitting on his front porch with his wife Debby, just enjoying the beauty of the day. One of his proudest accomplishments in life was just being POPS. Jimmy loved his grandchildren and was so proud of each and every one of them, they brought him so much joy in life.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Jean & Wayne Greenwell, his brother-in-law, John Ake, and his sister-in-law Cindy Rhoades.
Survivors include his wife Debby Greenwell, sons Jason Greenwell, Shannon Greenwell, Eric Greenwell and wife Jennifer Greenwell, grandchildren; Dakota & wife Kenzie Greenwell, Avery Greenwell, Jaylen Greenwell, Veronica Greenwell & her daughter Sayla (His only great grandchild), his sisters; Ronda Ake, and Debbie Garcia & her husband David, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other extended family members.
Funeral services were held December 8, 2026 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. David Mills officiating. Special music included "Go Rest High and Monsters." The casket bearers were Eric Greenwell, Dakota Greenwell, Arron McClure, Charlie Saunders, Gary Arwood and Charles Weaver. David Garcia, Junior Landes, Kevin Foster, Jim Ed Holt, Ted Holt and Larry Gilkey were honorary bearers. Interment followed in Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
