Jerry Lee Wilson, age 75, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri.
Jerry was born on June 18, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri to Clayton and Virginia (Kramer) Wilson. And he left this world on February 3, 2024 with his wife by his side.
He went into the Airforce in July of 1968 and served for a period of time in Okinawa loading planes. He was honorably discharged in July of 1972 as sergeant. Medals include NDSM, SAEMR (Marksman) AFGCM (good conduct) and AFM 900-311 (awarded to those who served for 6 months in South Vietnam during March 1, 1961-March 28, 1973)
Jerry worked for MOPub, Aquila and KCP&L from 1973 to 2010 before retiring.
Golfing was Jerry’s passion and he golfed every chance he got until Alzheimer’s robbed him of his ability to keep going. He was a member of the Clinton Country Club.
Jerry’s family was his other passion. He loved his kids and grandkids and always got excited when they came to visit. He married Germaine Goth Schussler in May of 2001, and held her hand until the end.
Survivors include his wife Germaine of the home, his children; Jeremy Wilson of Nixa, MO., Joey Wilson of Pleasant Hill, MO., Mandy (Chris) Munsterman of Montrose, MO., Toby (Brittany) Schussler of Forrest Grove, OR, and Noah (Ericka) Schussler of Clinton, MO., his grandchildren; Clayton Wilson, and Porter Wilson, of Nixa, MO. Maddi Bailey of Clinton, MO., Parker Wilson of Pleasant Hill, MO., Abby Vogel of Montrose, MO., Trenton Munsterman of Montrose, MO., Remi and Alex Schussler of Oregon, Lily Ann and Carter Schussler of Clinton, MO., two great grandchildren; Arlo and Ellowyn Bailey of Clinton, MO., one brother Jim and wife Kathy Wilson of Hermitage, MO., along with a host of nieces and nephews friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Hunter Vogel.
Memorial services were held February 10, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Father James Taranto officiating. Special music included “Hallelujah.” Military honors were under the direction of the VFW Post #1894 and the US Airforce.
