J.W. Moree, age 81, went home on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home in Deepwater, Missouri surrounded by his loved ones.
J.W. Moree was born on December 13, 1942 in Clinton, Missouri to William Edward Moree (Bill Ed) and Pearl (Doll) Moree. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1961. He traveled and loved all of his adventures in the military. He loved to fly. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida he met and married Brenda Manucy. To this union they were blessed with 3 children; Michelle, Shawn, and Michael. They moved back to Missouri where J.W. worked construction and soon started his own drywall company working alongside his son Shawn.
J.W. was a hard working devoted family man. He was an amazing father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his biggest joy. J.W. was an amazing artist, he loved pencil and charcoal medium. He could fix absolutely anything that needed fixing.
J.W. was preceded in death by his parents Bill Ed and Pearl Moree, his 3 brothers Dale Moree, Keith Moree and Billy Moree, and his beloved son Shawn Moree.
Survivors include his partner in life Mary Vandergriff, his daughter Michelle Moree, granddaughters; Jocelyn Baker and Kaitlynn Markway, and grandson Nicholas Nash, his son Michael (Holly) Moree, granddaughter Hayley Moree, and grandson Carson Moree, his stepson John Vandergriff, granddaughter Nadine vandergriff, granddaughter Beth Vandergriff, grandsons Aaron Vandergriff and Christopher Vandergriff, granddaughters Shoshannah Vandergriff, Mikayla Vandergriff, and grandson James Vandergriff, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandsons.
There is comfort knowing his legacy will live on through his family. The lessons he taught, the amazing love he gave, and the memories will be forever cherished by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held December 6, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Bill Landes officiating. Special music included “Never Not Remember You, Heaven By Noon and Believe.” Inurnment will follow at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington, MO. Military honors were under the direction of VFW Post #1894 and the US Navy.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
