Kathryn Lorraine Millam (Hills), age 95, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away on December 18, 2025.
Born on March 8, 1930, in Deepwater, Missouri, Kathryn was the cherished daughter of Willard “Jerry” and Etta Hills. From her earliest days, she carried a gentle spirit and a love of learning. After graduating from Deepwater High School in 1942, she studied education at the University of Central Missouri, driven by a desire to nurture and guide others.
Kathryn met the love of her life, Raymond Millam, and together they built a home filled with laughter, resilience, and devotion. Their marriage was blessed with three sons—Raymond Jr., Marvin, and Todd—who were the pride of her heart. Kathryn’s family was always her greatest joy, and she poured her energy into raising her children with kindness and strength.
Professionally, Kathryn dedicated herself to Unity Temple, where she was admired for her compassion and commitment. After retiring in 1995, she embraced a life of simple pleasures—helping neighbors, fishing, and delighting in the role of mother and grandmother. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Sr.; her sons Marvin and Raymond Jr.; her sisters Aretha Hills and Francis Barker; and her brothers Willard, Howard, Donald (Stag), and Richard L. Hills.
She was also a beloved aunt by her many nieces and nephews, and a caring friend of neighbors and co-workers.
She leaves behind her son Todd Millam, daughters-in-law Diana and Melony Millam, and granddaughters Lexi and Annie Millam, who will forever treasure her memory. Kathryn’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the lessons she imparted through her example of grace, faith, and perseverance.
Kathryn was a member of the Raytown Methodist Church, where she found strength in her faith and cherished the fellowship of her church community.
She also participated in the Raytown Silver Streakers group, (this was the bowling team, could be sneakers but she had both) and was active and really enjoyed a neighborhood card playing group.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Kathryn proudly supported her hometown teams—the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs—cheering them on with unwavering spirit and pride.
Kathryn was a remarkable lady—a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was deeply loved and will forever be missed.
Her laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever.
