Local Mission Team Serves At CCA

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the First Baptist Church of Lowry City (FBCLC) recently dedicated the focus of their mission team’s ministry to Clinton Christian Academy (CCA). Members of the FBCLC Mission Team consisted of approximately 25 individuals of all ages who spent the whole week (August 5-9) enhancing many different areas of the CCA facility (interior and exterior) and enriching the educational experience for students. FBCLC Pastor Jeff Ferguson stated, “Many factors led us to make Clinton Christian Academy our mission focus for 2024. The need for Christian education in our culture, the participation of several of our own children as students both now and over the past 16 years and the fact we have several adult church members serving on staff at CCA. A significant moment occurred as member Harold Wears turned 95 years old as he served during ‘Mission CCA’” .
This generous partnership between faith and education brought about several transformative changes as the week progressed. This awesome team of folks were involved in a variety of tasks including cleaning, painting, weeding, trimming trees, installation of new student lockers downstairs, purchase and installation of a new screen in the cafeteria, refurbishment of exterior benches, purchase and installation of the floor tile in the teacher’s restroom, purchase and installation of a new changing table in the restroom of the main building, installation of new pull up bars outside the gym, and playground work. The involvement of church volunteers has fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and pride among students, staff, and parents.
The collaboration between the FBCLC and CCA exemplifies the profound impact that community support can have on Christian education. By investing in the school’s infrastructure and resources, the church has demonstrated a deep commitment to the spiritual and academic growth of students. This partnership serves as a shining example of how local organizations can come together to create lasting positive change, glorify God, and grow His kingdom in their communities.
CCA is deeply grateful to the mission team from FBCLC for the time, energy, and compassion they exemplified this week. The volunteer work of this team truly captures the essence of Hebrews 13:15: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” What a blessing to see “Christ in action” as this special group of individuals united together and demonstrated a commitment to uplift others and live out their faith through compassionate actions.
