Louise Brownfield, age 93, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Adair Village in Clinton, Missouri. Louise’s wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Clinton Christian Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Louise was born on December 24, 1930 in Belle, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel Green Welch and Ora Helen (Carrell) Welch. Louise married Jake Brownfield on January 30 in Chilhowee, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1981. They began their life together on a small farm near Petersburg, about 14 miles north of Clinton. She remained there until she moved to Meadowlake in Clinton in 1993 where she resided until December 2023.
She was a member of the Clinton Christian Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked for many years as a case worker at Henry County Family Service and served as its director until her retirement in 1992.
She is survived by her son, Clint Edward Brownfield of New York, New York and her sister, Frances Eller of Belleville, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Karl Welch.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
