Mary Ann Dietz, 85, of Sedalia, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at E. W. Thompson Health & Rehabilitation in Sedalia.
She was born August 29, 1938, in Windsor, Mo., the daughter of Otto A. Kramer and Vera L. (Hewitt) Kramer. On May 19, 1956, she married Clair Le Roy Dietz in Clinton, Mo., and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2003.
Mary enjoyed raising their 4 children, Victoria, Claire LeAnn, Mark, and Michael. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and painting. She loved her dogs and liked to work puzzles and word search puzzles. She was a member of Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church, Sedalia.
Survivors include 4 children, Vikki Swope (Duard “Putt”), Warrensburg, Mo.; Claire LeAnn Dietz (Scott Woolery), Sedalia, Mo.; Mark Dietz (Rebecca), Clinton, Mo.; and Michael Dietz, Sedalia, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Timothy Hintenach, Thomas Hintenach, Carrie Huffman, Regan Woolery, Samantha Dietz, Shelby Dietz, and Chelsea Dietz; 14 great-grandchildren, Emaily, Owen, Tyler, Joshalynn, Beau, Triston, Zachary, Brock, Kash, Maverick, Harlow, Leia, Lukas, and Sage; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kristopher and Eyvey and a great-great-grandchild on the way; 2 sisters, Ila Ray (Ken) Kingsville, Mo., and Alice Watson (David), Warsaw, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by her mother and her step-father who raised her, John Scrogham.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Anne Kyle officiating. Burial was in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family received friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or the Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
