Patricia Louise (Bigelow) Beattie

Patricia was born October 2, 1928 in Atchison KS to Lois (Vanwey) Biglow and Chester Bigelow. She graduated from Atchison High School 1946. She began dating B.J. Beattie until he went of to WWII. When he returned they got married on June 27, 1949. Jim was working at Exchange National Bank in Atchison. She was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Chet, her husband B.J. Beattie, son Mark James, daughter Janell Marie, son Shawn Charles.
The Beattie's moved to Clinton in 1966 and immediately joined Holy Rosary Church. Pat and Jim were very active in the church whether it be helping in the kitchen, cafeteria, BBQing or fund raising. Dad worked at 1st National Bank as Executive Vice President. In 1978 Mom and Dad left Clinton and moved to Quincy IL. where Dad worked for Town & Country Bank until he retired. But they always called Clinton home. When Dad retired they moved back to Clinton and resided at 109 S Craig. Mom began volunteering at Golden Valley Hospital and Dad played a lot of cards and golf. Mom volunteered for approximately 17+ years. She also delivered communion to people home bound or in the hospital and nursing homes. In 2023 mom came to live with Sue (me) for 5 months until she fell and broke her ribs. She then had to go to rehab in Arrowhead Senior Living Center at The Lake of the Ozarks. From there she went into assisted living in Arrowhead. She loved to continuing playing games such as BINGO, cards, bags or whatever they came up with. She also still loved watching her sports on tv. It might be baseball, football, or basketball. She always had a ball game on. The ladies were great at helping her find the games on tv.
The remaining family are Tim & Nancy, 2 daughters Megan (Andre) & Brea (Clay) each have 3 children, Patrick (Patty) 1 daughter Meredith & James. 1 son, Sue 2 boys Matthew, 2 daughters and Adam (Taylor) 2 girls, Tom (Bethany) 2 boys and total off 11 Great Grandchildren. She loved her big family.
There will be graveside services in Atchison KS, May 15th at 10:30am at Mount Vernon Cemetary.
