Robert “Bob” Fenwick, age 95, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.
Robert (Bob) Leland Fenwick was born on November 12, 1929 to John Murray and Edna May (Ledbetter) Fenwick at their farm home eight miles east of Appleton City, Missouri in St. Clair County, Missouri in the same house, and perhaps in the same room, where his father was born in 1899.
He received his education at Davidson Elementary School, Lafayette, CO and White Hall School, St. Clair County, Missouri, Appleton City High School, graduating with the class of 1947, National Trade School of Architectural Drafting, Kansas City, Missouri and Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, Missouri. Bob married Arvella Godley on January 27, 1950 by Rev. Walter L. Johnson, the pastor at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Bob and Arvie were blessed with two daughters, Linda Mae and Patricia Kay.
Bob and Arvie made their home in St. Clair County and farmed for several years, then followed the call of God to pastoral ministry in 1970. They were blessed to pastor first the LaDue Christian Church in Henry County, Missouri then the Lowry City Christian Church, the Ohio Christian Church, the Park Grove Christian Church, all in St. Clair County, and the Christian Church of Liberal, Missouri, in Barton County, plus interim pastorates with the Appleton City Church of God ‘Holiness’, and the Golden Valley Christian Church of Clinton, Missouri, plus several others in pulpit supply ministry and revival meetings.
Bob and Arvie had enjoyed 66 years of togetherness when she passed on to glory on June 4, 2016. Later on June 16, 2018, Bob and Jo Ann Snider, longtime friends, were married at the Golden Valley Christian Church in Clinton, Missouri.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife Arvella, his parents, Murray and Edna, his brother, Eugene Fenwick and Gene’s wife, Naida.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann, his daughters, Linda Mosier, Patricia and husband Mark Ashley, step-son Jon Snider and his wife Jackie, step-daughter Nancy Miller and her husband Phil, step-daughter Beth Plessinger and her husband Bill, grandchildren; Stacy Miles and her husband Joe, and Leslie Mosier, Matt Ashley and his wife Tia, and Angela and husband Tommy Leslie, step-grandchildren; Jacob Snider and his wife Kaylee, Jared Snider and his wife Sophie, Sarah Plessinger, Olivia DeLaFuente and her husband Martin, Abigail Plessinger, Garrett Plessinger and Dottie Plessinger. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Shelby Mosier, Spencer and Brody Leslie, Elisha and Elliana Ashley, his step-great-grandchildren; J.J. Snider, Lou Snider, Kenna Snider, one nephew Gavin Fenwick and his wife Sherri, great-nephews, Christopher and Cayton Fenwick and one great-niece Maggie Schacher, plus several cousins and numerous in-laws and out-laws.
Funeral services were held March 28, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Clinton with Pastor Alan Black and Rev. James Eager officiating. The casket bearers were Ed Keltner, Jim Knight, Leslie Carpenter, Doug Snodgrass, Harry Crawford and Gerald Stephan. Butch Langford, Ron Nepple, Jay Knight, Larry Wheeler, Sam Masten, Sam Gibbons, Bob Fast, Bob Suschnick, Delbert Scott, Ron Long and Dennis Snyder were honorary bearers. Interment followed in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
