Ronald Nepple, age 79, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at his home in Clinton, Missouri surrounded by his family.
Ronald Lawrence Nepple was born on April 22, 1946. He joined the U.S. Army in 1966, started in Alaska and was in for two years. Ron worked with the Clinton Police Department from 1968 to 1979 where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. And was with Kansas City Power and Light from 1979 to 2011 when he retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Ron married Kathleen A. Scranton on December 28, 1991 and they were married for 33 years.
When he was not working, he could be found painting houses, power washing and staining decks. He drafted his grandchildren to help in his hobbies (side jobs). He loved to keep his lawn, vehicles and house looking meticulous. Items not used in 24 hours would end up in the trash!
He had a servant’s heart. He volunteered at the Samaritan Center as well as visiting those in the local nursing home and assisted living center. He would bring his dogs with him. He would have the dogs do tricks such as praying and it seemed to brighten the mood of those he spoke with.
Ron was always willing to help his neighbors, from mowing their yards to getting their mail. He was always willing to help. He knew everyone in the neighborhood and their business and liked to keep everyone informed of such.
Ron’s family was the center of his universe. He kept in contact with his children weekly. Always cheering them on, giving them advice and listening.
He was a daily visitor of Square 109 for morning coffee. He loved to talk with everyone there, sometimes engaging in controversial topics (if ya know, ya know). He and his friends thought they had the worlds problems figured out and wrote them out on a napkin.
Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sophia Nepple, his sister, Mary Jane Boes, brother-in-law, Gene Boes, brother, Leroy Nepple, sister-in-law, Judy Nepple, niece, Angie Brockmeyer, and brother-in-law, Bernhard Kaiser, and his in-laws Ronald and Clarice Scranton.
