Ruth “Louise” Jackson, age 102, formerly of Deepwater, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the E W Thompson Health and Rehab Center in Sedalia, Missouri.
Louise was born in West Virginia to John Lake Armstrong and Alice May Drew and was one of six siblings. On June 1, 1940, Louise married the love of her life, Luther Ray Jackson Sr., in Kentucky. Together, they built a warm and loving home that became the heart of their family.
A devoted wife and mother, Louise dedicated her life to her family. She is survived by her children: Bonnie Taylor of Danville, VA; Buddy (Madaline) Jackson of Conway, SC; Betty (Dale) Stone of San Marcos, NV; Beatrice Jarvis of Sedalia, MO; and Walter (Peggy) Jackson of Higbee, MO. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Louise found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying word searches, reading, puzzles, cooking, and cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Her greatest passion, however, was her role as a mother, wife, and grandmother. A woman of deep faith, she taught Sunday school at the Deepwater Baptist Church, where her spirituality guided her throughout life.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Jackson Sr., her son Ray Jackson, her daughter Barbara Coleman, and her two sons-in-law, Dorman Taylor and Stan Jarvis.
Louise’s laughter, wisdom, and kind spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. As she often said: “It was a simple life, but it was a good one.”
Funeral services were held October 16, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, MO with Rev. Jim Brack officiating.
