Thomas J. Beebe, age 85, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Adair Village in Clinton Missouri.
Thomas J Beebe was born on March 27, 1940 in Clinton, Missouri to Tom and Gladys Beebe. Tom attended Franklin Grade School and graduated from Clinton High School in 1958, where he held multiple records in football, basketball and track.
Tom was a United States Army Veteran. He enlisted on January 13, 1959, and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and was transferred to Aberdeen P.G., Maryland and was later stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska for two and half years where he was a general mechanic on tactical vehicles.
Tom (23) met the love of his life, Sally Ann Lamb (21) on a blind date. She described him as “nice, kind and respectful.” They were married on July 4, 1964, in Odessa, Missouri. They made their home in Independence, Missouri and raised their family there. Tom worked as a Tool and Die Machinist at Ford Motor Company and retired after 25 years.
Tom was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, and friend. He loved the outdoors and he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He loved his home away from home at Lake Pomme De Terre and was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan.
Tom is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Sally and their three children: Tom Beebe and his wife Sarah, of Midland, TX. Jim Beebe and his wife Tracy, of Lone Jack, MO. and Dana Beebe Postlethwait and her husband Glen, of Blue Springs, MO. 6 grandchildren; Cody Postlethwait (Kendra), Shane Beebe (Eden), Dalton Beebe, Tommy Beebe, Amanda Postlethwait, David Beebe and one great grandchild, Conway Beebe. He is also survived by his brother Robert Beebe and wife Evelyn, and his sister, Martha Peck and her husband Dewey, all of Clinton, Missouri.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Gladys Beebe, his sisters, Barbara Long, Doris Bray, and Myrna Wirsig and his brother Jerry Beebe.
Funeral services were held March 7, 2026 at Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton with Pastor Joey Conway officiating. Special music included "In Christ Alone, Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art and Lead Me Home." The casket bearers were Cody Postlethwait, Shane Beebe, Dalton Beebe, Tommy Beebe, Amanda Postlethwait and David Beebe. Interment followed in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
