Tommy Huenefeldt, age 69, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri. Tommy’s wishes were to be cremated with inurnment in Englewood Cemetery at a later date.
Tommy was the son of Bill and Genieve Huenefeldt who preceded him in death. He was born on August 9, 1955 in Clinton, Missouri. Tommy grew up on the family farm just northwest of Clinton. He worked hard, played harder and always had a smile and a get along to his step.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1975-1979 as an Aviation Electronic Tech on the F-4 Phantom. He loved music, friends, and a cold one… even hosted a few events in the pasture on the farm. Tom was a lifelong Chiefs fan. He watched the first Super Bowl in January 1967 on a black/white TV and the last one in February.
Shirley Deroush was his caretaker for the last 4 years. She provided so much…comfort, love and the voice that was with him till his last breath. She was more than a caretaker, she was family. Thank you Shirley!
Lastly, Mike Daugherty and David Philpott were true friends for 50 plus years with Tom. They were there on Friday April 11 to be with him also… and usually visited him every Thursday for the last 4 years. True blue buds!
His brother Paul looks forward to the day of everlasting life with Tom to continue our backpacking adventures. Acts 24:15
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
