Twilight Garden Club Presents Yard Of The Month

Posted

Twilight Garden Club is pleased to announce that the lovely yard of Judy Harris has been chosen as the August Yard of the Month. Judy has lived at 806 South Main for 29 years. She stated that she has always loved gardening. The moment you stop in front of Judy’s home, you feel welcomed. Her blue house with the bright yellow door and sunflower decorations are an invitation to come closer. Judy has placed a white bench and wooden rocker on her porch with a variety of garden themed accents, including matching pots of yellow Gerbera daisies and a hummingbird feeder.
From the sidewalk, there are stairs with white rails on either side, adorned with blue daze(shaggy dwarf morning glory) and spikes on either side. There are many pots of varying varieties of blooming plants. Judy has placed a bubbler fountain, surrounded by dwarf cypress, in the bed on the north side of her porch that adds to the calming atmosphere. Adding to the attractiveness are many different garden art pieces, including metal flowers, garden stakes, concrete pots, a flag pole with the American flag and a gazing ball.
Walking up the drive are pink and red hibiscus, rhododendron, Lenten rose, lily of the valley, hosta, and climbing rose. There were dahlia surrounded by sedum, white and pink dogwood, and some hand crafted glassware towers.
Judy said she works almost daily in her yard. Her hard work certainly paid off the yard is beautiful! Congratulations Judy!
