The 3 Chambers of Warsaw, Lincoln and Cole Camp met at Mozark Mocha on Lincoln’s Highway 65 corridor for lunch on August 21.
Susan Kyle gave a rundown on the happenings in Cole Camp, beginning by announcing the St. Paul’s Church is opening a much needed daycare facility in their church basement.
The Last Resort Bar and grill is working fast and furious to be open by the Cole Camp Fair on September 5, 6 and 7. It is located on North Maple on what was once called “Battlerow.”
RiOak will hold its annual craft and vendor sale on Maple Street on September 21. There is a happening planned for the loft also that day.
The Cole Camp Chamber will host Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 28, complete with German foods, beer and German music. On the same day, the Cole Camp Steam and Tractor Club will be hosting the final day of its antique farm show on their grounds on the east side of Cole Camp. A tram will provide transportation between the Farm Show and Oktoberfest in the Jaycee Gardens.
Kyle had the new fair books available for anyone wanting one as well as the brochures that had a full list of the fair agenda.
A Labor Day event scheduled for Warsaw is the annual Benton County Rodeo being held at the Warsaw Rodeo grounds on August 30 and 31. It is a MRA and URA Sanctioned Rodeo.
Megan Petersen, Warsaw Chamber reported on a downtown first time event scheduled for November. It is called Autumn Autos and Ale that will have food trucks, vendors, craft beers on downtown Main Street and a car show on the Courthouse block of Main. More details will be forthcoming.
Planning is in the works for the annual Kaysinger Heritage Days held at Heritage Village and the Warsaw Heritage Days with over 200 handmade craft booths, food vendors, live music and more located in the Harbor. The dates are October 19-20.
Amie Breshears was unable to attend but she sent a reminder announcement concerning the Strongman event sponsored by the Benton County Extension office in conjunction with Lincoln’s annual Fall Market/Balloon Glow in Hare Park. Breshears said in her message, "The strongman involves pumpkins; rolling, carrying and kicking them. So come join in the fun on September 14."
In the morning hours of Saturday, September 14, Lincoln will conduct its fly-in at the grass strip airport. Many vintage aircraft wing their way to Lincoln every September to enjoy one of the last remaining grass airstrips in Missouri. Grab a bite to eat and visit with the pilots while you watch the unique planes coming and going.
JoAnn Lane reported she had hosted a Mayors/Clerks meeting for small towns from Benton, Henry, St. Clair and Johnson Counties. The get-together continues to grow and seems to be enjoyed as attendees compare notes on their various communities in rural Missouri.
Lynette Stokes, Benton County Tourism reported she had a booth at the Missouri State Fair and had handed out lots of brochures and information on our area. She is now working on the 2025 budget and is getting a quote for AI for the area.
The next 3-chambers meeting is in Cole Camp at Missouri Made at noon on Wednesday, September 18.
