Carol A. Krider-Martin, 85, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. Born March 13, 1939, in Noble County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Henry Errol and Ailsa
“Billie” (Goodrich) Schuman.
Carol graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1957 and obtained her master’s degree in education from the University of Central Missouri. Carol taught fourth and fifth grades at Windsor Elementary in Windsor, Missouri for many years. Teaching was Carol’s calling. She greatly enjoyed developing young minds.
On August 16, 1957, Carol married LeRoy Krider (passed away on August 2, 2003). On January 10, 2018, Carol married Gail Martin.
Carol co-led a young girls Bible study/etiquette class called the Apple Seeds. She was in charge of the funeral dinners, nursery/check-in, and helped with the scholarship fund at First Christian Church. She was an avid reader and belonged to a book club in Columbia City. Carol was always up for an adventure and always loved to explore nature.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gail “Speedy” Martin; sons, Dennis Krider, and Michael (Mary) Krider; brother, DeVon (Millie) Schuman; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three nieces. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, LeRoy “Spud” P. Krider.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 6:00 pm Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 12, 2024, with calling one hour prior also at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home. Burial will take place at South Park Original Cemetery.
