CCA JH Basketball Drives Through Terrific Season

The CCA Junior High boys basketball team recently completed its season finishing 18-2 overall and 6-1 in the Mo-Kan Junior High Conference with its only loss by 2 points to Overland Christian.
The team earned the number one seed in the Mo-Kan Junior High postseason tournament and earned a bye to face Center Place in the semi-final. CCA won 50-38 to reach the final against El Dorado Christian.
CCA captured its first junior high post season conference championship with a 43-34 win.
Raymond Hood and Kyler Foley were named first team All-Conference Tournament and Gauge Schlagle, Isaac Curnutte, and Parker Lowe were named second team.
The team also competed In its own ”CA Tournament which was a round robin involving St. Peter, Polk County and St. Paul.
CCA opened the tournament by defeating St. Peter 41-16 before defeating Polk County in the second-round game, 35-27.
The championship game matched up with St. Paul of Concordia and the team played one of its best games of the year winning in a convincing fashion 59-37.
Raymond Hood was named most valuable player for the tournament.
The junior high team is coached by Jeff Adams and JD Manning and recently completed its 16th season.
The program has had 10 winning seasons and its overall record now stands at 191-105.
In the girls CCA tournament, first place went to Polk County Christian School from Bolivar and second place went to St. Paul Catholic School from Marshall.
The girls MVP was Destiny Larimer from Polk County.
