Doris Marguerite Dehn Clark passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 in Belton, Missouri.
She was born on December 20, 1925 near Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Mildred Luallin Dehn.
She grew up on her family’s farm, located 5 ½ miles southwest of Clinton, where she spent many enjoyable days with her grandfather George H. Dehn riding horses, hunting and fishing. She attended primary school at a rural school house near the farm and then graduated from Clinton High School.
On September 26, 1945 she married Jack Clark, Calhoun, Missouri. She moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where she worked at a radio station while her husband served in the Army Air Force. She then returned to the mainland where she raised her family and served on many civic committees. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Little Blue River Daughters of the American Revolution. She served as a volunteer for twenty-five years at what was formerly known as Research Belton Hospital.
During her life she enjoyed traveling, researching genealogy and working in her yard. She was an avid reader of books, particularly enjoying mystery novels. During her later years she took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and her many pets.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack Clark and her son, Lt. Colonel Thomas Clark.
Doris is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Cook (Eldon), Belton, Missouri; daughter-in-law Gina Clark, Montgomery Alabama; grandson Dr. Daniel Cook (Brooke), Nashville, Tennessee; granddaughter Lauren Cook Lovetere (Cody), Overland Park, Kansas; grandson Jeffrey Clark; and two great grandchildren, Chloe and Luca. Much loved in life, she will be greatly missed by her family.
Graveside service only starting at 11am Thursday, Feb. 23. Interment at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri.
