Triple Creek Golf Course sponsored the Walt Heisterberg Memorial Labor Day Golf Tournament, which was a 3-person scramble, on September 2, 2024. Nineteen teams participated.

This tournament was renamed in 2016 to honor Walt Heisterberg, who died September 2, 2015. Walt was a founding member of Triple Creek Golf Course, and active in the planning, construction and operational phases of the course. A water well windmill has been erected in his honor, next to No. 18 tee box. The opening ceremony, which included Walt’s family, was held at the clubhouse, prior to the tournament. The ceremony included the introduction of Walt’s family, and remarks remembering his many outstanding qualities, including always being their for his family, friends and all persons with whom he came in contact. He was also remembered for his work ethic, and for the priority he placed on serving the Lord. This year, no monarch butterflies were released in his honor due to the monarch’s late arrival this season, however, several monarchs were seen by the players during the tournament.

Special prize winners are as follows:

Cody Calhoun won the Closest to the Pin Contest, and received a $50.00 gift certificate from Triple Creek Golf Course.
Tony Neth won the Longest Drive Contest, and received a $50.00 gift certificate from Triple Creek Golf Course.
