Have I Got A Line For You!

These sure are strange times. I’ve never seen a major speech by a Presidential candidate highlighting the failures they’ve helped preside over. Who needs a plan for the country when Kamala is brining us platitudes and joy. Hope and change 2.0! Except now it’s, “The art of the possible.” What does that mean? Who knows, maybe they’re trying to normalize the word salad before the big debate. Meanwhile, Kamala’s campaign looks like a satire of Soviet style propaganda.

It’s been five weeks since the assassination attempt on President Trump. Isn’t it interesting that we still have very little information on the gunmen? Authorities say that getting definitive answers has been “Slow going” because of the volume of information they have to sift through. Sounds remarkably similar to the problem the FBI had with Hunter’s lap top.

This just popped into my mind. Neither Windsor nor Warsaw was platted so it’s easy to find due north or due south. Windsor follows an old trail, or so I’ve been told and Warsaw was laid out just up the hill from the Osage River. What should be north or south, as it is in many places, sure isn’t in Warsaw. Paul Shinn told me this has caused problems over the years with various property lines. I’ve always found the best reference for guidance to be the Henry Lay House. It was built facing due south.

I was reading the New York Post and saw a question about an Alfred Hitchcock movie. And that brought back a memory from when I was about 8 or 9 years old and at my Grandma Murphy’s home in Mission, Kansas. She had a Zenith stereo system in the corner of the living room and it played 78 records. My favorite was an album of Alfred Hitchcock short stories. One of them featured a set of tom-toms playing for a moment. I’d sit there and keep moving the needle back to the tom-tom spot, over and over and over. It must have driven my grandparents just about crazy. But they usually ignored the tom-toms and just let me have at it.

P.S. Do we have inflation? Ponder this. We don’t have “Dime Stores” anymore and “Dollar Stores” are now a $1.25.
