Scoring Woes Continue For Winless Bluebirds

The Cole Camp Bluebirds knew coming into the season that there would be growing pains. Those expectations continued last Friday as they fell to Sherwood 36-6 on the road to drop to 0-3 on the season.

The first quarter saw the Marksmen tally 24 points on the ground to lead 24-6 after one.

Promising junior QB Grant Rodriguez hit Blake Abey at the 33 for a 53 yard TD. Rodriguez was sacked at the 11 on the 2-point attempt.

It was 30-6 at half. After a scoreless third quarter, Sherwood scored again in the fourth for the 36-6 final.

Rodriguez was 5 for 18 passing for 87 yards and rushed 17 times for 47 yards.

The Bluebirds host winless Crest Ridge this Friday for their first home appearance of the season. If they can contain quarterback Wesley Taylor rushing then they could win out. Crest Ridge has a kicker, so in a close game that could be a factor. Stay tuned for the outcome next week in the BCE. We will have a post game interview with Coach Shearer that you won't want to miss.
