The Magical Mystical Tour Hits Henry County

Posted

September has been a busy month for the Henry County Chapter NSDAR. Missouri State Regent Lisa Parks and Missouri State Corresponding Secretary Shelia Wilson as well as DAR/SAR/S.R. State Chair Marilynn Henry have been touring the entire state consisting of eight districts sharing information about the Parks Administration 2024-2026. The Magical Mystical Tour was kicked off in the West Central District with a meeting in Sedalia held at the United Methodist Church with over 80 members in attendance. Eleven chapter regents from the West Central District shared what their chapters had done for God, Home and Country and received certificates of recognition. Andra Ferguson, Henry County DAR Regent, gave a report on what that chapter had accomplished and received their certificates. State chairs had displays highlighting their work and spoke to members about how they can become more involved in the historic preservation, education and patriotism fields.
After a wonderful lunch provided by Table of Five Catering, State Regent Parks shared information about her project. Other officers provided materials showing how they can assist Missouri DAR members. A brief skit entertained the members, and a silent auction raised money for the Parks project.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a women’s service organization whose members can trace their lineage to an individual who contributed to securing American independence during the Revolutionary War. Today’s DAR is dynamic and diverse, with over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters in the United States and abroad.
DAR members annually provide millions of hours of volunteer service to their local communities across the country and world. DAR chapters participate in projects to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Over one million members have joined the organization since its founding in 1890.
