She was born November 20, 1926, in Windsor, the only child of Frederick LeRoy Bowen and Zella Mae (Sadler) Bowen. She was baptized in 1939 at the First Christian Church of Windsor. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1944 and then attended Huff’s Business College in Kansas City. She was secretary to the money order cashier and handled WWII money orders for service men with casualties. She moved back to Windsor and worked at the International Shoe Factory and then attended Central Missouri State College (now UCM) in Warrensburg. She met William Rex Corson from Leeton and they were married January 15, 1948, at the Broadway Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. They were the parents of two daughters, Cynthia and Charlotte, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
In 1965, Margie went to work for Dr. William J. Smith and was his receptionist and bookkeeper for 16 years. She then worked as secretary to Assistant Principal J. O. Fetters of the Windsor Junior High School for 5 years, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Windsor and was one of the first deaconesses of the church. She was also a member of the Henry County Chapter DAR, and WWII servicemen remained dear to her heart. Margie always brought a smile to the face of those around her.
