Clinton Christian Academy (CCA) held its second annual Patriot Honor Society (PHS) Induction Ceremony on September 19, honoring students for their dedication to scholarship, leadership, service, and Christ-like character. The ceremony was sponsored by PHS Advisor, Audra Schumpert and began with a warm welcome from Upper School Principal, Becky Hyke. Lead Administrator, Robin Ritchie, opened with a prayer, setting the tone for the event.
This year’s PHS ceremony honored new inductees and members who have shown dedication and commitment to serving their community through faith. The event was marked by a sense of excitement and gratitude. Mrs. Hyke, Upper School Principal, shared her enthusiasm, “I am very proud of our new PHS inductees and members. They each will give of their time and talents to serve the Lord this year. I look forward to their ideas, and amazing energy.” She also encouraged them to reflect on the verse from Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Board Member Barry Bullock, delivered an inspiring message, encouraging students to lead by example. Drawing from scripture, he shared passages from Proverbs 1:1-7, Proverbs 18:15, Titus 2:7, and Joshua 1:9, reinforcing the importance of wisdom, diligence, and faith. “Younger students may look at your achievements and hopefully desire to follow in your footsteps. It is now your responsibility to lead them in a positive direction,” Bullock said.
The ceremony featured a Lighting Ceremony highlighting the four key qualities of PHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Christ-like character. New inductees Matthew Hansen, Mason Plumb, and Colten Manning recited the PHS Pledge, committing to uphold these values. Senior Clara Hyke, PHS President, shared her excitement for the coming year, “I am very honored to be a part of this honor society; the other members and I look forward to serving the Lord through our school and the community, all the while upholding the four pillars we represent in this organization: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and most importantly, Christ-like Character.”
PHS Advisor, Audra Schumpert, expressed her admiration for the students,”It is amazing to watch these talented, and hardworking students grow throughout their time as members of Patriot Honor Society. Even with their busy schedules, they rise to every occasion and challenge with grace, perseverance, and a love for God.”
The event concluded with a time of fellowship for PHS members, families, friends, and staff, celebrating the achievements and bright futures of the honored students.
